The range that everyone has been waiting for this Autum Winter 2012! It’s Bourjois NEW Faux and Fabulous range to keep up to date with all the lash trends seen on the run way. There are five themed lashes in styles: Rock Chick, Smoky Eyes, Lady in Black, and More Volume. And finally the most exciting one for me is the fifth design where Bourjois have collaborated with PAPERSELF(paper art lashes). They will be extending the lash collection in the beginning of 2013 which I am waiting patiently already!

I love to have lots of styles of false lashes within my make-up kit depending on the looks I am creating on my models, so all the styles in this range I love and would recommend to collecting them all in your kit. The one style I really want to talk about is the PAPERSELF design for Bourjois. Bourjois and Paperself collaborated for Miss Couture, which is a paper lash in a lace design, inspired by the lace and floral catwalk designs on the runway.

Like all Paperself lashes, these are incredibly delicate and intricate, like miniature works of sculpture for the eyes. They’re also a lot longer than your common false eyelashes, but actually I think that’s a good thing: by trimming them carefully, you can get a pair of corner lashes (or two) as well as a pair of full-length strip lashes out of each box. Of course, statement eyelashes such as these aren’t exactly for everyday wear on yourself or models; so they are perfect for that creative close up photography photo shoots or fancy dress.

And here(above picture) they are on one of my colour run lip shoots! Yup … I used them on the lips- you just have to think how you can get creative with them!
My Top Tips for applying false lashes and PAPERSELF:

Before you start to apply, measure the length of the false lash to make sure it fits your/models eye shapes.

Take both edges of the false lash and flex them in to create a C shape and hold for a couple of seconds. That’s the best way to take out the straightness and ensure it moulds to our curved eye shape and stays put without the corners lifting up.

Apply high quality glue such as Duolash for long lasting results. This also comes in black.

Wait 10 seconds or so for the glue to become more sticky before placing onto your/models lash line.

Apply the lash to the base of the natural lash line on top of your actual lashes, not on the eyelid at all.

If required- Apply mascara last so you can integrate the natural lashes with the false ones.
